CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT NOVEMBER 2011 PARENT NEWS AND NOTES
It’s hard to believe that we are almost half way through November. October was full of fun and interesting autumn learning experiences for everyone. Dr. Gerber was here for Back to School Evening and did a fun and informative Parent workshop on “Helping Children to Learn.” The children spent most of the month exploring the beautiful autumn weather through a variety of multi sensory nature experiences indoors and out. Trumbull Fire Department came to visit and helped us to teach the children about Fire Safety. Miss Rochelle did a fantastic job with our school photos, and if you have not already received yours they should be in by the end of this week. She will also be taking orders if anyone is interested in additional copies of photos. Let’s enjoy every last bit of this season, as we were all reminded just a few weeks ago, how very fast our weather can change. Let’s hope for a fairly mild winter. We deserve it!
TAG SALE/COSTUME PARTY
I would like to thank those families who braved the cold to come and help support our school with donations and by working our annual Tag Sale. Although we only earned a little over $200.00 we had a great turn out and a lot of fun working together. With our costume celebration and pizza party moved indoors it was wonderful to see so many of our little ones dressed up. They especially enjoyed playing with their friends and picking and painting their very own pumpkins from our indoor pumpkin patch. It’s always great to see our families get together and we were really happy that the snow didn’t keep anyone away. Read More »
Don’t forget today and Friday are picture day! Check your email for details on the children who will be photographed each day!
Welcome to the new web site for Creative Development. I asked Lorraine if I could write up a quick guide to the new site and highlight a few features.
We had two types of visitors in mind as we designed the new site: parents with children in the center, and visitors from the community who are evaluating their day care options.
For enrolled families, we’ve made it easier than ever to keep abreast of the happenings in our busy school. Here are the various ways you can stay in the loop.
For updates such as weather related updates, event reminders, special instructions and other quick news and alerts there are new options:
- Facebook – From the home page, look for the facebook logo. If you are a facebook user, you can click through the logo to our Creative Development School facebook page. To receive updates from us, just click the ‘Like’ button on the top, and our updates will appear in your News Feed.
- Twitter – If you are a Twitter user, you can follow Creative Development by clicking on the Twitter logo.
- The Home Page – If you use neither facebook or Twitter, then you can always just visit us here. This is also where longer communications such as Parent News & Notes will appear.
- Emails from us – We will still use email to communicate as we have historically (although emails may have more links than previously). Miss Lorraine’s email address is staying the same.
- WTNH channel 8 – Weather related closing and delay information will still be broadcast via WTNH channel 8.
There is no need to check in all the places listed above – the information will be the same across all. Simply use whichever service is most convenient for you.
For families who are looking for childcare options, we have made the site highly findable via Google and other search engines. However if you are aware of families who might be interested, we encourage you to send them our web site address: www.creativedevelopmentkids.com
If you have questions specific to the web site, you can contact me via my own web site,

Hi Everyone,
With the diagnosis of another pre k child with bronchitis today we are requiring that every child who has been out sick provide and who has been seem by their physician us bring us a note from the doctor outlining their specific symptoms and giving them the OK to come back into school. We need to help these little ones get better as quickly as possible and the only way we can do this is to keep the children home from school until they are feeling themselves.
Thanks,
Lorraine
